A Service Dog ID Card is an identification document for trained service dogs and their handlers. This card substantiates the status of the service animal required to support an individual with a specific health condition. It includes information such as the dog handler’s name, the name of the animal, and an image of the dog.
The handler can access various public and private places that allow service animals through the ID Card. Thus, the handler of the dog does not have to face many limitations. It focuses on the convenience of the service animals, which are specially bred to do any task related to the owner’s disability.
To register a service dog ID card, you must have a valid Service Animal Registration with ESAcert. To use your registration benefits during check-out, you require the ID number or email used during registration.
Please remember that if you order registration service for one year or more, you will be issued one service dog ID card free of charge. During the registration process for the service dogs, you can order as many service dog ID cards as you need or indicate your assistant dog registration number in the notes at any time in the future.
This card is essential when proving that a service dog is helping a person’s disability.
To order an ADA ID Card, you must have an active support animal registration membership with ESAcert.
You can order multiple copies of the ID card, or you can easily request a replacement card later without any issues.
ID and other paperwork are non-refundable.
USPS First Class: 2-6 business days.

Service dog ID cards are printed on CR-80 plastic cards, usually 3.370 inches by 2.125 inches. This standard size will not clutter your wallet and is almost the same size as a credit card or your ID card. Also, most handlers like to secure the service dog or emotional support animal ID cards to the trained dogs’ collars for identification purposes. You can add a mini ID Tag copy to your order by following this link:
These cards allow you to guarantee that your service animals are recognizable and can be of great help to you.
The registered service animal card is an offline physical ID to identify your service dog only. It works with digital applications and does not have an expiration date. The authenticity of the registration is determined through the bar code and by checking the registration on the website. Thus, usage of the physical card is never limited, and the card remains current as long as the registration remains effective.
It is recommended to order an updated service dog ID card after updates, such as:
Possessing this card helps reinforce the legal rights of your service dog, differentiate it from pets, and acknowledge its value.
Service dog ID cards, registration details, cards and certificates, tags, vests, and harnesses identify a service dog.
According to the ADA, these items are unnecessary for a real service dog ID card to be allowed into most facilities or cope with any gotten rights. Owners employ these accessories to make the dog visible to the public and to minimize direct questions about their person’s disability or trained service dog’s task.
Digital registration remains your main proof, but the service dog ID cards establish quick offline identification when necessary.
Our goal includes making a technical solution so that the owner of an assistant dog doesn’t feel any difficulties in their everyday lives. This is why explaining to everybody why your dog has an exceptional status has to be as simplified and digitalized as this. Service animals are to assist a person with a mental health disability and should not cause discomfort. Such dogs benefit us, and we appreciate them as workers daily.
Yes, you can register more than one service animal ID card. You can request more cards at any stage of the process. These cards assist in noting the trained service dog and the task that the disability entails. Ensure each card’s registration number is provided to make no difference when validating the cards.
If the card is lost, service dog owners should contact the organization that provided the card to issue another one. These identification cards are helpful because they can distinguish your working animal and what it does for your disability. Maintaining a copy in digital format can also be very useful.
If the membership is invalid, the service dog ID number on the back of the plastic card will not accept your entry into the registration. Although the card is still applicable for convenience, you can’t use it for support on trained dogs due to disability. Re-register to maintain validity.
Service dog IDs are not legally required and do not guarantee a dog’s status as a service animal.
Our Service Animal ID Cards do not have an expiration date. But if any of the information changes, such as the handler’s contact info, we recommend updating the card.
